I have started using TextPad since 1999. I changed to use Mac but I could not find any other editor which could replace TextPad. I tried UltraEdit but many functions cannot be found compare with TextPad, I run marco on a 32MB text file, very slow, but I run the same marco from TextPad even from the Windows on VMWare, so fast. Shall we encourage TextPad to have the Mac version. I really miss it.

Jasmine: Most hamsters are not sexually mature until they're over so many months of age. I believe a winter white is not sexually mature enough to get pregnant until she is 3-4 months old. So if she is only about 5 or 6 weeks old, she is not within the age range to be able to get pregnant yet. However if she were the gestation period is 18-21 days. Female dwarf hamsters such as the winter white and campbell go into heat every 4 days once sexually mature. So every 4 days she will allow mating to occur with the male and so that means every 4 days she could potentially get pregnant. i know everyone loves the winter whites because of the color change, but if you're trying to breed or you're not trying to and it happens, an amazing thing about the campbell males is they will help with delivery of the pups, he'll clean them, lay with them, bring them back to the nest if they wander off and he'll bring food to the mother. I think it's super sweet! I just recently purchased 2 dwarfs: 1 male, 1 female. The female is a normal agouti color and the male is a silver/blue on the top and a tannish gold on the bottom. They were labeled as winter whites, but i'm not so sure. I've been researching since i got the first one a week ago and now i got the little boy today named Storm (still trying to pick a name for the female, narrowed down to 3: Gale, Saffir or Misty). So i am excited to finally figure out what they are and if they change colors, it will be super exciting! Best of luck everyone with your hammies!

Just stumbled upon this thread tonight from the Googlesphere.

Add me to the list of Mac users who sorely hates not having TextPad native on OS X. I've run it via Crossover on my Mac for a long time, but who wants that overhead? Not me.

For instance, call me crazy, I really don't want to write extra code in Perl or JQuery to generate a sequence number in a replacement string like I can do in TextPad with TWO (2) characters. \i

Beat THAT.

While, yes Aquamacs is amazing and powerful.. it's powerfully stupid when it comes to this task (and many others) when you just want to do something SIMPLE and QUICK.

I see your Aquamacs and I raise you two characters- \i .

...and at most \i (N,M) if you want to change starting point and increments. It's not like that's ALL you can do, but THAT'S POWER to me. To be able to get a SIMPLE task done with minimal fuss... and if you need more options THEN break bad with the Perl, Lisp, jQuery, blah dah fricken' blah.

/rant

P.S. I've purchased TextPad and use it fairly often on my Mac via Crossover, but I will DEFINITELY buy another copy for my Mac. It's that great. Please join me in hasslin' the developers to make this available for Mac.

Or if you are developer, make something as good or better for Mac and post your links here. I'll buy it if it's up to the task.

It's technically possible, but doesn't have to be. And there's no way of knowing until her belly starts growing :-)

I got a female winter white hamster from PetSmart several days ago...and she was in a cage with 2 other males. I didn't realize it at the time that she was a girl, but when we got home with her, we decided to 'check' her. It turns out she was a girl...she looks like she's about 5 or 6 weeks old...do you think she's pregnant?

Thanks for all the postings here. I have used TextPad for about a decade ... i.e. I LIVE in TextPad for HTML, CSS etc. I have stumbled along in TextWrangler on Mac but can never achieve the comfort level found almost instantly in TextPad. Laptops are cheap these days so I may actually get one just to run TextPad on Windoz, based on comments here. For everything else I can easily live in OS-X. For virus/zombie etc. reasons I prefer to keep the Mac, Windoz incapable. If any program ever belonged on the Mac it is TextPad
